Celebrity Visitors at Strawberry Field: Bob Geldof and the Million Dollar Man
Strawberry Field Liverpool remains one of the most iconic landmarks in music history, forever linked to young John Lennon, who played in the gardens as a child. His memories later inspired the legendary Beatles song “Strawberry Fields Forever,” turning the site into a must-visit destination for Beatles fans, travellers and celebrities from around the world.
Last weekend, Strawberry Field welcomed two particularly notable visitors: global music icon Bob Geldof and WWE Hall of Famer Ted DiBiase, known to millions as the “Million Dollar Man.”
Bob Geldof, frontman of The Boomtown Rats and the visionary behind Live Aid, visited Strawberry Field ahead of his performance at the Liverpool Olympia on Saturday night (15 November). After touring John Lennon’s childhood home at 251 Menlove Avenue, Geldof and The Boomtown Rats explored the gardens, took photos with fans, and stopped for pictures by the famous red gates.
WWE legend Ted DiBiase and his wife also made Strawberry Field part of their journey through Liverpool’s Beatles heritage. As part of a Magical Mystery Tour of the city’s most iconic Beatles landmarks, the couple visited the gates and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings that inspired one of the band’s most famous songs.
Geldof and DiBiase now join a long list of celebrity visitors to Strawberry Field, including Rebel Wilson, Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong, and Yoko Ono, who visited in 1984 with Sean Ono Lennon.
