Cafe Assistant

Working hours: 16 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for providing excellent customer service as you perform your tasks and duties within the Strawberry Field CafĂ© to ensure customers have a high quality and positive experience
  • Take orders and serve food to customers in a quick, efficient and effective manner in accordance with the customer service standards of the cafĂ©
  • Undertake all required cleaning duties as directed by the Cafe Manager to ensure that the cafĂ© operates effectively and in compliance with any relevant health and safety requirements
  • Have good knowledge of all food and drinks served in the cafĂ©, understanding allergens, cooking processes, ingredients used and any relevant health and safety information
  • Be able to listen to and respond appropriately to customer feedback to ensure that customers feel listened to and satisfied
  • Be knowledgeable in the operation of relevant equipment used in the cafĂ© including the drinks machines and electronic point of sales terminals to deliver the required services to customers
  • Ensure that all cash receipts are handled and kept secure in accordance with site policies and procedures
  • Within a culture of continuous improvement, provide regular feedback to the Cafe Manager regarding any relevant process, procedure or equipment to ensure the cafe operates as efficiently and effectively as possible
  • Barista training is desirable however full training will be given 

The role will involve working weekends.

Appointment will be subject to satisfactory references, a criminal record check, Right to Work in the UK in line with Home Office requirements.
