How neurodiversity benefits a workforce

11 Sep 2025

At Strawberry Field Liverpool we know the power of inclusion. As we prepare for National Inclusion Week, we want to share why embracing a neurodiverse workforce is beneficial for employers and communities.

Neurodiversity refers to the different ways that people think, learn and process information. Conditions like autism, ADHD and dyslexia are often spoken about in terms of challenges. Yet when given the right support, neurodiverse individuals can bring remarkable creativity, problem-solving skills and resilience to the workplace.

Employers who recognise neurodiverse talent often discover fresh perspectives on complex tasks. People who see the world differently can find solutions that others may miss. This can spark innovation, improve productivity and build stronger teams. A workplace that values neurodiversity is also more adaptable and more reflective of the communities it serves.

Inclusion is not just about opening doors. It is about creating environments where every person can thrive. At Strawberry Field, we provide training and opportunities for young people with barriers to employment through our Steps to Work programme. We see firsthand how confidence grows when someone is valued for their unique contribution. Employers who embrace neurodiversity often see higher employee engagement and a culture of respect.

As we mark National Inclusion Week, we invite businesses and organisations to think about the untapped potential of neurodiverse individuals. By making small adjustments in recruitment practices and workplace support, we can open up opportunities for talent that has too often been left behind.

Strawberry Field Liverpool is proud to be part of this movement. Together we can build workplaces where difference is celebrated and inclusion is at the heart of everything we do.
