Theatre and Performance Technology BA (Hons) Graduate 2025
Steff Norman is a Theatre and Production Technology graduate at Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA). This installation, commissioned by the Strawberry Field Learning Hub, serves as a celebration of our Steps at Strawberry Field graduates. As each trainee completes their journey, they are invited to leave a personal message written on recycled CDs and place it on the wall. The aim is for every graduate to feel they are leaving a lasting mark at the centre, a meaningful reminder that they will forever be a part of the Strawberry Field family. The installation is made from sustainable materials, including reclaimed wood and CDs that were destined for landfill. "Shine on!", lyrics from John Lennon's song 'Instant Karma' are illuminated by rechargeable batteries.
About the Designer
Steff Norman is a Theatre and Performance graduate from Swansea South Wales. He created the Shine On! installation during his third year at Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts.

Steff said, "The brief I was given for this project is to design, make and evaluate an interactive art installation to be installed at Strawberry Field Liverpool. This art piece must fit into Strawberry Field and the Salvation Army’s ethos of kindness, respect and compassion and be as sustainable as possible. While designing the Shine On! Wall, the idea was to embrace the community values of Strawberry Field and build something that showcases the achievements of the trainees as they move through the Steps to Work Programme."
