The Salvation Army’s Strawberry Field has been shortlisted as a finalist in four categories at the Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards 2026, recognising its continued growth and commitment to delivering an inclusive, sustainable visitor experience with social purpose at its heart.

Having won Small Visitor Attraction of the Year for three consecutive years, Strawberry Field has now progressed to the Large Visitor Attraction category, which recognises attractions welcoming more than 75,000 visitors per year. The nomination marks a significant milestone in the attraction’s development and reflects its growing reputation within the Liverpool City Region’s tourism sector.

Strawberry Field has also been shortlisted for the Regenerative Tourism Award, which it won in 2025, and the Accessible and Inclusive Tourism Award. In addition, its Marketing and Communications Officer, Hayley Forrester, has been recognised as a finalist in the Unsung Hero Award category.

The Salvation Army’s Major Michelle Lovegrove Huggins, Mission Director at Strawberry Field said, “We are incredibly proud of the work we do to at Strawberry Field. To have this work recognised with these award nominations is truly humbling, and it feels particularly special to see our growth recognised this year as a finalist for Large Visitor Attraction of the Year. By championing sustainability, accessibility and inclusion, Strawberry Field is now a place people want to visit not only because of connection to John Lennon, but because they want to support our mission. It is fantastic to see how far Strawberry Field has come, and we are delighted to be shortlisted alongside so many of our peers in the Liverpool City Region tourism industry”

These nominations reflect Strawberry Field’s continued growth and its contribution to the Liverpool City Region’s tourism sector. By combining its world-famous heritage with The Salvation Army’s mission to support people facing barriers to employment, Strawberry Field continues to demonstrate that a great visitor experience, sustainable growth and positive social impact can go hand in hand.
