Summer Fete: 90 years of Strawberry Field
Strawberry Field
Suggested Donation £5
The iconic Summer Fete returns to Strawberry Field to celebrate the 90th anniversary of The Salvation Army children’s home opening in 1936.
Join us on Saturday 4th July from 10am to 4pm to celebrate 90 years of Strawberry Field serving its community.
Throughout the day, live music will fill the grounds with performances from Macclesfield Brass Band, Liverpool Rock Choir and Strawberry Field's very own Ukulele Band. Alongside the music, visitors can browse stalls from local makers and enjoy summer specials from the Imagine More Café.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy the new Sir George and Lady Judy Martin Rose Garden as it opens its gates to the public. Featuring tributes to the late Beatles’ producer, Sir George Martin, and Strawberry Field Patron, Lady Judy Martin, alongside a display of David Austin Roses, the garden is a wonderful floral addition to the iconic site.
To mark 90 years, Strawberry Field is kicking off its ‘£90 for 90 Years’ fundraising campaign. Supporters are invited to get involved by fundraising at least £90 for Strawberry Field to help them continue the work of The Salvation Army on the site. Find out more here.
Visitors are invited to celebrate Strawberry Field’s work within the local community, from its history of providing care to vulnerable children to its current ‘Steps at Strawberry Field’ programmes. There will be chance to find out about Steps to Work, which supports young adults facing barriers to employment, as well as information on ways anyone can get involved through volunteering and community activities. Recycles Merseyside will be on hand for essential bike maintenance and to give information on the refurbished bikes they have for sale.
We look forward to celebrating with you.
