Apply to Steps to Work or Steps to Work Lite

At Strawberry Field, our Steps to Work programme supports people aged 18+ who have learning differences or need additional support to move into employment, helping them build the skills, confidence and experience needed to progress towards paid, sustainable work.

We provide a fully inclusive and supportive environment where every person is valued and welcomed. Our focus is on unlocking potential for individuals who may be further from the job market, but who have talents and ambitions that can thrive with the right support.

The programme offers up to 12 months of tailored development for each trainee, including around five months of on-site learning and work experience at Strawberry Field. During this time, our trainees build confidence, develop workplace skills, and gain meaningful experience in a supportive setting that reflects real employment.

Following this, trainees are supported into up to two external work placements in areas aligned with their interests and goals. We work closely with employers across the Liverpool City Region to help create inclusive workplaces, supporting reasonable adjustments, building understanding, and removing barriers to recruitment and progression. Where appropriate, we also provide opportunities for paid employment within Strawberry Field itself.

Our approach is rooted in partnership, progression, and practical support, ensuring each trainee has the opportunity to move at their own pace towards meaningful and sustainable employment.
