Volunteering Roles

Description: Each day dozens of tour coaches and taxis pull up at Strawberry Field. We are looking for volunteers who can staff our busy lay-by area, outside the iconic red gates.  As a volunteer you will be the first point of contact and will be responsible for meeting and greeting visitors from across the world, as well as ensuring that the lay-by is correctly used. 

Location: Strawberry Field, Beaconsfield Road, Liverpool, L25 6EJ

Summary of task:

• To be on duty in the lay-by area
• To direct coaches, taxis and tour buses as required
• Meet & greet visitors to Strawberry Field
• Provide visitors with some information about what is available on the Strawberry Field site
• Supporting any visitors with additional needs

Skills/experience needed:

• Happy/comfortable being outdoors in all weathers
• Enjoy meeting new people
• Friendly
• Assertive & able to give clear instructions to drivers
• You may be required to undergo a DBS check for this role
• Two satisfactory references will be required 

Training provided:

• Strawberry Field / Salvation Army volunteer induction
• Specific lay-by training will be provided

Finance: The role is unpaid. 

Availability: Hours for this volunteer role are flexible. Ideally, we are looking for people who can volunteer for either a morning or afternoon each week (including weekends)

Description: We are looking for volunteers who can fundraise for us, help to create fundraising ideas and join us in fundraising and promoting the work of Strawberry Field. 

Location: Strawberry Field, Beaconsfield Road, Liverpool, L25 6EJ 

Summary of tasks:            

• Attending meetings to create fundraising events
• Helping to organise fundraising events
• Gaining a good knowledge and understanding of what we do at Strawberry Field
• Speaking to members of the public about our work 

Skills/experience needed:

• Good communication skills
• Enjoy speaking to new people
• Ability to promote the work of Strawberry Field
• Previous experience of fundraising would be ideal but not required  
• Friendly and approachable
• Reliability
• Two satisfactory references will be required

Availability: This is an ad-hoc volunteer role. We will ask fundraising volunteers to attend regular meetings and support us at events as and when required. 

Description: We are looking for people who are friendly, outgoing and comfortable using a tablet to fill out digital surveys. You will be required to complete five-minute surveys with visitors to Strawberry Field asking them about their visit, why they came and details which will help to inform us of our visitor demographic and how we can maximise the experience.

• To approach visitors to fill out a customer survey
• Explain how the survey will be used and how their data will be handles

Skills/experience needed:

• Happy/confident approaching people
• Enjoy meeting new people
• Friendly
• Able to use a digital tablet
• Two satisfactory references will be required

• Strawberry Field / Salvation Army volunteer induction
• Specific training will be provided
