How to make friends in Liverpool
If you're new to Liverpool, or just want to make new friends, there are plenty of ways to expand your social circle with Strawberry Field. Strawberry Field is an inclusive community, whatever your age or interests. Here are some ways that you can get involved and meet new people in Liverpool.
Try a new hobby or learn a new skill
Trying a new hobby or learning a new skill is a great way to meet people in Liverpool. At Strawberry Field, you can come and learn to play the ukulele! Our weekly Ukulele Group is a lot of fun, and no previous experience is necessary. The group meets every Friday at 10.30am for a sing-a-long and to strum a few chords on the ukulele. The Strawberry Field Ukes also perform at our annual summer fete and Prescot's Serious Nonsense festival. Come and join in, you're sure to make new friends!

Come to a community event
We host regular community events, including our monthly Gathering. On the first Sunday of the month, from 5.15pm to 7pm, friends of Strawberry Field meet in our Imagine More Cafe for coffee, cake, arts and crafts, and music. It's free to attend and a great way to unwind ahead of a busy week.

Volunteer
Volunteering your time and skills is a brilliant way to meet new people. We have plenty of roles available, whether that's with our fundraising team, in the cafe or in the garden. As a thank you, our volunteers are invited to garden parties and movie nights throughout the year.

Find a part-time job
If you're a student, a part-time job alongside your studies is a great way to meet new people. If you need support finding work, we can help! Our Steps for Students programme helps students facing barriers to employment connect with employers and find paid work.

Come sit at our Talking Table
Sometimes taking yourself to an event or putting yourself through a programme can be intimidating. If that's the case, there are other ways of reaching out to people without putting too much pressure on yourself. At Strawberry Field, we pride ourselves on our warm welcome and want to make sure everyone feels included. We have a 'Talking Table' in our cafe, where visitors can sit to let people know they are open to conversation. Come and take a seat at our Talking Table, you never know who you might meet!
